Best UV Laser Blanks to Buy and Sell
Slate, glass, ceramic, acrylic, and crystal blanks that suit a desktop UV laser, and the checks that keep a batch consistent enough to sell.

The blank is the product. The laser is the tool. A desktop UV galvo earns its keep on pieces that look expensive and do not need a paint fill: slate, frosted glass, a marked metal card, a clear cube with something inside.
Blanks that match the machine
- Slate coasters and small plaques. Dark stone, light mark, low material cost. Thickness jumps between suppliers. The working chart is F2 Ultra UV slate settings.
- Ceramic tiles and ornaments. Only after a grid on that glaze. Ceramic settings explains why we will not invent a number.
- Glass and crystal. Surface frost for drinkware, inner engraving for small clear blocks. The field for inner work is the small one. Can a UV laser engrave glass?
- Cast acrylic tags and signs. UV marks and cuts many plastics with less char than a diode. Confirm the sheet is not "fully clear" if you hoped to cut it. xTool's own material list distinguishes clear acrylic.
- Coated metal cards and tags. This is marking. A 5 W UV source is not a metal-cutting shop.
What to check in the carton
Flatness, dryness, and thickness. A jig assumes all three. If ten coasters vary by a millimetre, you will refocus or you will ship uneven work. Jigs come after the blank is consistent, not before.
Track three numbers for yourself: what the blank cost, how many failed the grid, and how long the file took. Anyone selling you a profit per coaster without those three numbers is guessing. So are we, if we printed one.

FAQ
What is the easiest blank to sell first?
A slate coaster, because the contrast is obvious and the size fits a desktop field. It is also the blank that punishes a wet or wavy piece, so keep the first batch small.
Should I buy a mixed sample pack?
Yes, once. Use it to learn. Do not promise a product line from a sample pack you cannot reorder in the same thickness.
