Best Inline Fans for the F2 Ultra UV

How exhaust differs from air assist on the F2 Ultra UV, which fan class xTool lists, and why you should confirm the 80 mm hose before you order.

Smoke residue on the lid is an exhaust problem, not a slate-preset problem. The F2 Ultra UV has a smoke outlet and a fan module you can pull and brush clean (xTool user guide). When that is not enough, you add a duct.

Air assist and exhaust are different hoses. Air assist blows at the cut. Exhaust pulls smoke out of the box. Atomm's slate notes say to avoid airflow aimed across the stone, because it changes the mark. Do not point a blower at the coaster and call it ventilation.

What xTool actually lists

xTool's SafetyPro IF2 2.0 compatibility list includes the F2 Ultra UV. The same guide groups the F2 Ultra series with an 80 mm rigid exhaust pipe, and a separate connector for 65 mm machines (IF2 guide). Third-party adapters also exist that step the F2 Ultra and F2 Ultra UV outlet out to a 6-inch hose. Measure your outlet. Do not buy hose from a blog.

Three ways to deal with smoke. Pick from the room you have, not from a spec-sheet horsepower number.

If the mark itself went patchy, fix focus before you buy a bigger fan. Residue on the glass is the fan symptom. A grey engraving is an energy symptom, covered in the slate troubleshooting table.

FAQ

Do I need air assist for slate?

A community slate log reported a white mark with no air assist. You still want extraction. They are not the same feature.

Can I use a dryer hose?

Only if the diameter matches and the run is short. A long, crushed hose moves almost nothing. Rigid pipe where you can, short flex where you must.
